Recently, the Organizing Committee of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) announced the Top 30 shortlist for the prestigious 2021 SAIL Award. Synyi AI's project, "Medical AI Operating System Based on a Medical Knowledge Brain," was successfully shortlisted due to its strong technical capabilities and practical implementation in hospital settings.

Other entrants on the list include international tech giants such as Huawei, Alibaba, JD Technology, Baidu, and General Electric, as well as academic and research institutions like the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, the University of Liverpool (UK), and the University of Waterloo (Canada).

The SAIL Award is not only a globally influential accolade established by WAIC but also an important initiative by Shanghai to accelerate the integration of top-tier AI research outcomes, innovative products, financial resources, and application scenarios. The selection process is overseen by the Shanghai Academy of Economic and Information Development.

It is reported that this year’s SAIL Award continued to follow an expert recommendation system. The judging panel consists of WAIC presidium experts, members of the Shanghai AI Strategy Advisory Committee, and professionals from the tech, investment, and media sectors. 2021 marks the fourth year since the award's inception in 2018. Synyi AI’s selection from a pool of prominent companies and institutions underscores its technical strength in enabling industry transformation through AI.

Synyi AI's submitted project, the 'Medical AI Operating System Based on a Medical Knowledge Brain,' serves as a foundational AI platform for medical institutions. It supports developers of medical AI software with standardized technology and provides a streamlined 'one-click' deployment solution for AI products.

Through engineering practices, the project builds an operational platform that enables large-scale integration of AI products with existing hospital knowledge, data, and scenarios. Utilizing cutting-edge AI algorithms—including medical NLP engines, medical knowledge graph reasoning, and automated machine learning—this platform addresses a wide range of hospital needs, improving quality and efficiency. It has already been implemented in over 150 top-tier hospitals across China.
