On December 9, 2022, Forbes China, together with Forbes Magazine, Forbes Chinese Website, and its official digital media platforms, released the “2022 Forbes China 100 Outstanding Young Returnees” list. Dr. Shaodian Zhang, Founder and Chairman of Synyi AI, was recognized on the “Influential Young Returnees” sublist.

This marks the third time a founding member of Synyi AI has been honored by Forbes China. Back in 2017, Dr. Zhang was named to the “Forbes China 30 Under 30” list.

Dr. Shaodian Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Medical Informatics from Columbia University. He currently serves as the Founder and Chairman of Synyi AI. He has been recognized as a High-Level Overseas Talent in Shanghai and a recipient of the Pujiang Talent Program. In 2021, he was selected for the “Top 50 Youth in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Shanghai” and named one of Pudong New Area’s “Top Ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs.”

He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Pudong Federation of Industry and Commerce and Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Anhui Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Zhang has published nearly 30 SCI papers with over 1,300 citations, making him a distinguished representative among young overseas returnees.

Driven by the mission of “optimizing every medical decision,” Dr. Zhang has led Synyi AI to develop over 15 AI- and big data-powered solutions as of the end of 2022. These innovations have supported the smart hospital initiatives and digital transformation efforts of more than 150 tertiary hospitals across China.
